My Story
I was born and raised in a small town in Maryland, USA. From an early age, I have been interested in the field of psychology and at the age of twelve, I decided I was going to become a psychologist. There were a few things that led to this decision, but mostly it was a gut-feeling, an intuitive, light-bulb moment where I just knew this was my path. I told my parents and that was it. I never changed my mind.
Through my research, I understood that counselling psychologists appeared to engage more with the open-ended, deep, humanistic work that I saw myself doing. Knowing this from a young age was a gift that allowed me to follow a clear path in life and arrive at the place I am today as a proud counselling psychologist.
Moving to the United Kingdom to study was another adolescent dream of mine that was inspired from binge-watching Skins on Netflix. First I studied in London for my masters degree and then as fate would have it, I ended up in Bristol for my doctoral studies. It was only after I had chosen Bristol that I realised Skins was filmed here. A lovely synchronicity.
All these years later, I now reside in the Bath/Bristol area surrounded by scenic views and beautiful valleys reminiscent of my home in Maryland, in the career of my dreams.
